SQO-OSS Launched

Yesterday my research group and our partners officially launched the SQO-OSS research project: a Software Quality Observatory for Open Source Software.

The idea behind the project is to use mine artifacts, like source code, bug tracking databases, mailing lists, and version control data, from open source repositories and provide metrics regarding the quality of individual projects. We'll try to obtain quality indicators for both a project's process (for example, how quick is the resolution of serious bugs?), and its products (how consistent is the code style?).

We made news on LinuxWorld and TECHWORLD. Hopefully, in 23 months we'll be able to deliver on our promises. Please contribute here any comments and suggestions you may have.
